A Community Senior Center Event
Author Alexis Lathem will read from her new memoir, Lambs in Winter, to be released in early November. Lambs in Winter presents lyric essays about Lathem’s recent experiences with her husband on a small farm near Burlington. The essays highlight the seasonal cycles of raising farm animals, and growing fruits and vegetables while encountering the challenges of farm life including flooding, winter storms, and managing invasive plants, pests, and diseases. Latham will also share her experience of writing the memoir.
Following her readings from Lambs in Winter and sharing her involvement with writing the memoir, Lathem will introduce workshop participants to the art and craft of memoir writing.
Please bring your writing implements of choice: paper and pencil, laptop, or whatever works best for you.
